Diversiton's A - Z of New Year Resolutions

Here are a few thoughts, resolutions and reflections for the New Year.  It's a mix, match or change menu, so jot down what is relevant to you and create your own plan. Have a great 2010!

A - A fresh start. A new you. What do you really want to do this year? What's on your A list? Join an Athletics Club, learn Archery, visit an Art Gallery - Anything new. You choose; but just see if you can get a different Angle on life.

B - Be determined to make all your resolutions happen. Look on the Bright side wherever you can and be positive. Remember to make time to Bond with family, friends, neighbours, colleagues…

C - Concentrate your mind on something different. Find a new Club or Choir, go to a ‘proper, sit and listen’ Concert, take up Chess (on-line if you like), play Croquet, whatever.

D - Plan to clear your Debts. Develop your potential - Do something Different every week.

E - Increase your Energy: Exercise! Every day. Eat better.

F - If you were to be Famous for just one day – what would you want to be famous for? Can you progress this now? Resolve to get Fit.

G - Be Gentle with yourself. Be Grateful for your wonderful Gifts and the unique qualities that you have to offer. Be Good to yourself and Gracious to others

H - Try to stay Happy; think back, every evening, to what’s gone right that day.

I - Imagine what next week can bring. Imagine what you might achieve today. Imagine becoming the person you want to be.

J - Do a personal Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis of your Job or other main activity. What does it tell you?

K - Perform a random act of Kindness, every day; something you really didn’t have to do, but which makes someone else smile (you’ll smile too).

L - Learn about other faiths or beliefs which are different to yours.  Start here http://www.diversiton.com Ask yourself how well do I Listen to others.

M - Make a wish or a promise to yourself which Means something to you as a person. How will you Manage to achieve it?

N - Avoid Negatives; don’t be cynical.  Life’s too short.  If you can’t say anything good about someone, don’t say anything.

O - Organise a visit to somewhere you’ve always dreamed of going or to someone who you haven't seen for years; just do it.

P - Don’t Procrastinate – do it! Start from where you are now and take one step at a time.

Q - We all need Quality time. Chill out in the Queue.

R - Find time too for Reflection. Life is not a Rehearsal.

S - Support a charity - find one locally or on the net that interests you.  Make a difference and make someone Smile. What have you to say about the 30,000 people preople that die of Starvation every day?

T - Have a TV-free day every week. Go on, give it a Try!  Treat yourself to some Training - go on-line and find a subject that interests you

U - Uncover the purpose of your life. Take time to sit in silence, stroll in the park and be at peace.

V - Write down your own personal Vision. What do you want to become or do? Volunteer for something useful.

W - Write a poem or song or story for someone you love/have loved.

X - Explore somewhere new, however locally or far-flung.  Search and marvel on the internet if you can’t physically get there.

Y - You need to read your new year resolutions every day if you want to achieve them.

Z Z is the final letter of the alphabet. Resolve to give yourself a final thought each evening before you drop off to sleep – whatever it is.
