A Muslim insurance salesman is suing his firm for religious discrimination because it offered wine as a sales incentive. Imran Khan claimed Direct Line insurance offered no alternative to wine as a reward for selling pet and household policies. Khan said offering alcohol, which Muslims are forbidden to drink, put him at a disadvantage to his colleagues. His solicitor Mr Aslam said 'the applicant claims direct and indirect discrimination on the grounds he is a Muslim. The tribunal panel has reserved judgement for two weeks.
